The Fuel Tank Safety Level 1 and 2 recurrent course is designed to update the knowledge and skills of aeronautical personnel previously trained in the initial levels of the Fuel Tank Safety (FTS) program.

This recurrent training focuses on regulatory developments, lessons learned and good practices derived from operational experience accumulated in the sector.

The course allows you to maintain the validity of the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) certification, ensuring that personnel continue to correctly apply safety measures in the maintenance, inspection and management of aircraft fuel systems.

Course goals

The objective of the recurrent course is to reinforce and update the competence of aeronautical personnel in matters of fuel tank safety, guaranteeing continuous compliance with the requirements established by the EASA.

At the end of the course, the student will be able to:

  • Consolidate knowledge of the historical background related to Fuel Tank Safety (FTS).
  • Know the concepts of Fuel ALI including the control limitations of the CDCCL critical design configuration as well as its identification in manufacturers’ documentation.
  • Identify recent changes in FAA regulations (SFAR /Special FAR) 88 of the FAA and the JAA Temporary Guide TGL 47.
  • Provide information to operational personnel regarding the risks of working on fuel systems and especially those related to flammability reduction systems.
  • Maintain validity of FTS training required by EASA Part 145 and Part CAMO.
